Forty isn't old, if you're a tree
I believe that was something someone said.
Its amazing though that a piece of wood
That we would use as a shed.
Can live so much longer than thee!
A turtle does good as well
So live your life wisely
As only our days will tell.

Forty is the old age of youth; fifty is the youth of old age.
  Victor Hugo

So young man will you take me out
For a meal and a drinky poo.
Splash out on a chinese
And then maybe later me you will woo!
Happy Birthday - you old thing!

Sing a song of Birthdays
Full of fun and cheer
And may you keep on having them
For many a happy year.

I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.
Oscar Wilde

Are you sure you're not related
As that sounds a lot like you.
Gobbledygook even when sober
Lets start this decade anew.
A Merry 40th that is what I'll say
on this your special birthday.

"Old age is like climbing a mountain. You climb from ledge to ledge. The higher you get, the more tired and breathless you become, but your views become more extensive."
Ingmar Bergman

**

I wish you happiness and joy in life and many more birthdays to bring you delight

40th Birthday Poems

Heartiest congratulations (Name)
On reaching the big (Four)-O
You've had a very hard and gruelling life
And Boy! does it show
Face facts, buddy
You've reached that stage
When people who look old
Are only half your age.
Sorry but it's true
You should've tried that face cream
like the blokes on the telly do.

**

For age is just a state of mind
And life can be such fun
And you still know how to party
As much as anyone
So let's make this a memorable occasion
In every single way
And I'll be there to help you
Ensure it's a wonderful day
