Always Remember This:
You don't stop laughing because you grow old,
You grow old because you stop laughing.

And boy do you need a sense of humor at this stage!

Come, my friends,
'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.
It may be that the gulfs will wash us down:
It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,
And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.
Tho' much is taken, much abides; and tho'
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved the earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
Alfred Tennyson

Age [along with retirement] appears to be best in four things — old wood best to burn, old wine to drink, old friends to trust, and old authors to read.

Retiring has been a surprise,
As I never thought I would
Find so very much I want to do
And discover that I could.

Do it all along I mean
I never had the courage,
To ride pillion on a motorbike
And have very little baggage.

My vitamins and minerals
Must have done their stuff
As really on the whole
I am very,very tough.

So, get out and enjoy my friends
Before Old Father Time turns up.
Sing like you've never sang before
And drink like never before out of lifes cup!

I can read and write and paint.
Can even aspire to be a saint.
Left alone,
I could travel, teach and tutor.
Share guide and mentor Someone.
You my friends can remain blind
And kind
Or see in me a New find
Making again a difference.

You can now live by this motto:
Didn't care yesterday.
Didn't care today.
Probably won't care tomorrow.

Above all, it is a mistake to retire too late in life
because you don’t get another chance to do it right!
There are great experiences that come from
The joy of not working.
